Good Morning! I can’t believe it’s already Thursday, this week has just been flying by!

I’ve been wanting to do a survey for awhile now and I’ve been seeing a lot of the Currently one being done. I know I’ve done this at least once during my blogging, but I think that was a few years ago. I thought it would be a good way to update you. I may start doing it seasonally or every few months.

Current Book: I’m actually not reading anything right now. I’d love to hear some suggestions though!

Current Music: I’ve been loving Sam Hunt’s song Break Up In A Small Town! It’s great during my workout when the chorus drops, it really gets me in the zone. I’ve also been playing Rachel Platten’s Wildfire album a lot!Current TV Show: Since I’ve been working in the evenings lately, I’ve been watching a lot of talk shows. I’m talking about Live With Kelly and Michael, Rachael Ray, The View, and Ellen! I don’t know why, but I just absolutely love them!

Current Movie: I haven’t watched a movie in the longest time, but I do really want to see the new Star Wars movie (I know it came out awhile ago so it isn’t exactly new anymore)

Current iPhone Wallpaper: This picture of Matthias and I when we were in Hamburg one day! It’s one of my favourite pictures of us.12511521_10157083134965377_1277514339_nCurrent Drink: I finished a mug of green tea a little while ago so I’ve just been drinking water since then.

Current Food: I’ve been loving my Laughing Cow cheese wedges. I’ve only tried the Light Swiss ones, but I want to try the other ones! 12540325_10157081032495377_1723667510_nCurrent Obsession: All things sugary! I don’t know why, but I’ve been eating all the sweets since being at my mom’s. I’m starting to cut back because I don’t feel the best when I eat a bunch of it.

Current Wish: That I could be spending time with the boyfriend! I really miss him and I wish we could be together on the same continent, in the same time zone, in the same city. Long distance is tough!IMG_2714Current Need: Sleep! As soon as I’m done this post, I’m passing out for the night!

Current Procrastination: Finding a re-certification for my first aid. I need to re-cert every year before I renew my personal training certification and I keep putting it off! I’ve found a few courses, but I haven’t signed up for one yet.

Current Blessing: I feel blessed to be able to live at my mom’s. It’s nice coming home from work and being able to heat up food to eat that I didn’t have to make myself. I am also blessed in that I’m able to save some money since I’m not having to pay rent or spend that much on groceries!

Current Excitement: I’ve been thinking about my quad workout for tomorrow and am very excited about it! I’m going to add some plyo bursts to get my heart rate up! I’m excited now, but I know in the middle of my workout I’ll be hating myself!

Current Mood: Tired! I’ve had a long day and am ready for bed.downloadCurrent Bane of my Existence: I can’t seem to think of anything besides repaying my student loans 😶 Why is school so dang expensive!?

Current Link: I found this article on Buzzfeed yesterday and had a good chuckle at some of the points. It’s 21 Pictures That Prove Canada Is Not A Real Country! I have some other Canada related Buzzfeed articles that I’m thinking about sharing in tomorrow’s post.

WIAW #56

Good Morning! How is your week going?

We’re in the middle of a snowstorm here so the drive into town later is going to be a lot of fun. I don’t mind the snow, but hate driving in it!

Before I head out to brave the winter, I wanted to pop in to share what I ate yesterday. These are my favourite posts to read and to write so I hope you enjoy it! As always, a big thanks to Jenn for beginning this link up and letting me be nosy!

What I Ate Wednesday Tuesday

I started my day off much like last week’s WIAW only I added a sliced banana to it! The picture is recycled from last week, but seriously, you need to try this peanut butter! I have been loving it!12498498_10157058057220377_2091143518_nI was in the mood to bake yesterday so I spent an hour or two experimenting with a new recipe to no success. Isn’t that the worst! I’ll still eat it, but I had really high hopes for it.While it was baking, I whipped up my lunch. It was three eggs sunny side up with red pepper, spinach, and a Laughing Cow wedge. 12540325_10157081032495377_1723667510_nThe afternoon was spent snacking on pretty much anything that didn’t have any nutritional value. I had some of my “creation” that became a little better with peanut butter, some of my mom’s butterscotch peanut butter balls, and French Toast Crunch.

Supper time came before I knew it so I sat down to eat what my mom made for us. I realized this also looks similar to last week’s WIAW too. There was chicken stir fry and some rice with veggies. 12540028_10157081032830377_646466226_nI’m typing this up a little early, but when I’m done, I’m going to go grab a snack. I haven’t decided on what yet, but I have a feeling it’s going to have some more sugar because I definitely haven’t had enough of that today 🙈🙊

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a fantastic weekend and are set to take on the week!

I never meant to drop off the face of the blogging world at the end of last week, I just underestimated what starting work again would be like. I briefly mentioned it in my last post, but I started at my new job at a gym the middle of last week and it’s been a little crazy ever since.

Today’s post is much like my other Monday posts in that I’ll be updating you on my weekend (trust me, it isn’t that exciting), but I’ll also be recapping the end of last week since I disappeared.

Let’s take it back to Tuesday! I found out Tuesday morning that my letter of employment was ready and that my supervisor wanted to meet later that day! I quickly showered, threw some stuff in a suitcase and drove the hour and a half to my new job! After meeting with her, I headed to my mom’s house which is where I’ll be living because a) it saves me money and b) I’d rather not live on my own. The rest of that day was spent settling in and reading some work documents.

I was up bright and early on Wednesday to help my mom for a few hours before my first shift! My mom cleans houses so on top of my shifts at the gym, I’m going to be helping her a few days a week. I worked with her until just after lunch then headed to the gym. Right away I felt welcomed and I already know that I’m going to enjoy my time there.

I was able to sleep in on Thursday! I say sleep in, but I was awake around 8. I headed into town to get a workout in at my new gym before heading to work! Before I went to the gym, I had to stop at a grocery store to pick up a travel sized shampoo and body wash so I would be able to shower before my shift. While I was there, I noticed that they had Boom Chicka Pop Holidrizzle on sale for .99 cents!! I picked up the Dark Chocolatier Sea Salt and White Chocolate Peppermint flavours. Needless to say, they’re both gone and I can’t pick a favourite! They were both really good!

I had Friday off so I went back to my dad’s (where I used to live) to pick up a few more things since I packed in a rush on Tuesday. After that, I headed to the town that my university is in to meet up with some of my friends! I hadn’t seen them since September so it was great getting to catch up with them! I headed back to my mom’s Friday night since I had to work Saturday.

Saturday was much like Thursday in that I woke up, went to the gym before work, then worked. I’m starting to feel a lot more comfortable on the floor and am really enjoying myself!

I had Sunday off so I relaxed most of the day! I had a FaceTime date with Matthias and then I ran a few errands with my mom in the afternoon. Besides that, I caught up on reading blogs and watching YouTube videos!

WIAW #55

Good Morning! How is your week going?

I’m going to be helping my mom out this morning before going to my first training shift! I’m super nervous, but also excited! My supervisor seems really nice and welcoming!

Anyways, before I head off to clean a couple houses, I wanted to share with you what I ate on Monday! As always, a big thank you to Jenn for creating this link up!

What I Ate Wednesday Monday

Before heading to the gym, I had a piece of toast with Nuts ‘N More Salted Caramel peanut butter! This may be my new favourite nut butter!12498498_10157058057220377_2091143518_nFollowing the gym and a shower, I made something that doesn’t look like much, but is very tasty! Underneath a runny egg, I stirred ketchup and a Laughing Cow wedge into ground chicken. It was quick, but very tasty!12506653_10157058057310377_1812833732_nA little while later, I went to my sister’s to hang out with her and her girlfriend. While I was there I had a few cinnamon rolls. There’s two pictured here, but I had another two afterwards.12483690_10157058057375377_445276028_nI ended up staying for supper and we had honey garlic chicken stir fry. It was really filling!12506766_10157058057470377_911541229_nAfter supper, I headed back home. I had a bowl of ice cream later on because you can’t watch The Bachelor without it. Did anyone else watch? I already have a couple favourites and a couple not so favourites! Hamstrings and Glutes Workout

Good Morning! I hope everyone’s beginning of the week has been great!

One of my blogging goals for 2016 is to post more often. In that same category, I also want to be posting more workouts and recipes. I thought I would start the goal of right with a workout for you all today. I did this workout yesterday and I suffered from jello legs by the end of the workout! Let me know if you give it a try!

Before starting the workout, I warmed up on the treadmill for about 10 minutes and did a couple sets of monster walks and x-band walks! I find these two exercises help with glute activation which I sometimes have a hard time doing otherwise.hamglutwoAs you can see, it’s all supersets which is how I normally train. I was really trying to burnout my lower body with the last two supersets. The very last superset is only completed once, but you’re doing each exercise until you can’t do anymore.

I’ve included sourced videos, pictures, or explanations of the exercises I’ve done in case you are unsure of some of the exercises. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me, I’d love to help!

First Weekend of 2016

Good Morning! Did you have a good weekend?

I’m ready to take on the first full week of 2016! I’m feeling extra motivated and have some fun things coming up this week to look forward to!

Since it’s Monday, I wanted to share a recap of my New Year’s Eve and the weekend! As always, I’ll be linking up with Katie for Marvelous in my Monday and Erin for Weekend Snapshots!

Let’s start with New Year’s Eve! I actually didn’t take any pictures, but I had a lot of fun at my friend’s party.

Before the party, I smashed a great workout and had an even better post workout meal (snack really). Another bowl of Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Ice Cream! This time I topped it with Oreo and Candy Cane Kisses!12459878_10157040889820377_1044027300_nA lot of the people at the party were friends from high school who I always love to catch up with! I had a blast playing Survivor Flip Cup and Sociables as well as just chatting with everyone! Closer to midnight, I started to make grilled cheeses for everyone since my friend’s parents weren’t home yet. I wish I would have taken a picture of my workstation and everyone’s happy faces, but I was too busy. They were all very grateful! It was a really great night!

Friday morning started a little later than usual due to the late night, but I woke up feeling ready to take on the new year. I had a pretty relaxing morning and afternoon just hanging out and making to do lists.

Around supper time, my sister and I headed out to my Grammie’s to see my Aunt one last time before she headed back home to Toronto! We had a great ham and potato scallop supper with the best biscuits!

I was up early on Saturday with my sister to get my first workout of the new year in! We did a tough quad workout that has left me pretty sore. Following the gym, I headed to the market to pick up some veggies for a few days. Unfortunately, I got there a little later than I would have liked and there weren’t as many stands open as usual so I only managed to get two sad looking zucchinis.

However, one of the zucchinis made for a delicious lunch! I spiralized one and cooked it with garlic and pepper before topping it with a runny egg. I also had egg whites and a wedge of Laughing Cow Light Swiss Cheese!12483815_10157052173450377_976664651_nLater that night, I realized that I hadn’t really eaten that much during the day so I made probably the best nightcap bowl I’ve ever had! I made Salted Caramel Protein Ice Cream using a sample of Quest’s protein powder. To that, I added Butterscotch Ripple ice cream, caramel sauce, Nuts ‘N More Salted Caramel Peanut Butter, and a Kinder Egg Surprise! Can you tell I like caramel?12498790_10157052173485377_515939405_nI slept in a little later than usual on Sunday and spent the morning doing some cleaning, planning, and reading before heading to the gym for a chest and triceps workout. The rest of the day was spent watching tv marathons and completing an online training course for my new job I’ll be starting this week!

I’m really excited and also a little nervous to start working this week at my new job! I spent the summers of high school and university working at a water park so this is the first time I have a different job! It’s a little nerve wrecking, but I’m also really looking forward to be working somewhere doing something I’m passionate about. I’m sure I’ll be sharing more about it later so I won’t bore you with too much today!

Friday Favourites #38: Week of 1/1

Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had fun ringing in the New Year last night!

I’m currently typing this up on New Years Eve before starting to get ready for a party. I’m listening to Throwback Dance Party on Spotify and am loving it! Don’t Cha is currently playing and it’s bringing back all kinds of memories!

Friday Favourites #38: Week of 1/1Friday Favs Winter

  • Protein Ice Cream

I recently replenished my protein powder stock and have been making protein ice cream again! All I do is combine a scoop of protein, half a cup of almond milk, and lots of ice to my NutriBullet! Once it’s combined, I’ll put in the freezer for a few minutes to harden up a little bit then I’ll top it was all kinds of goodies! The one on the left has Oreos and Chocolate PB2 while the one on the right has Oreos and Candy Cane Kisses!

  • New Workout Playlist

If you missed my Winter 2016 Playlist I posted last week, I would recommend checking it out. Whenever I need an extra push in the gym, I find updating my workout playlist usually helps! This playlist has a mix of old and new songs that really pumps me up!

  • Deadlift PR

I was doing a back and biceps day at the gym yesterday and hit a PR on my deadlift! I hadn’t done deadlifts since the summer (and even then I didn’t do them that often), but I’ve been very happy with what I’ve been able to pull last week and this week. Anyways, yesterday I managed 110 lbs for 3 reps! That probably doesn’t sound like all that much for some people, but I am so proud of myself! I’m looking forward to seeing that number go up this year!

  • New Year’s Resolutions/Goals

In yesterday’s post, I mentioned my goals for 2016 and I am feeling very motivated right now! I’ve also loved reading on other blogs what their goals or resolutions are for the new year!
