Good Morning! I hope you’ve been having a great week!
My week has been flying by and I can’t believe I leave tomorrow! I’ve been spending most of my time hanging out with Matthias since it’s going to be quite a few months until we see each other again. Unfortunately, I have to pack today, womp womp. I really don’t like to pack.
Before I get started packing, it’s time to share some food! What I Ate Wednesday is Jenn‘s linkup that gets hosted by different bloggers every week. It’s a place to share what you ate in a day without judgement, restriction, guilt, or comparison! Let’s get to the food!
What I Ate
For brunch I made egg whites and an egg with ham. I also had a rice cake with peanut butter and jam.Since my Christmas Market experience wasn’t the best on Friday, we went to a smaller one yesterday. I needed to try a few things before leaving so off we went. The market was so pretty and put me in quite the festive mood! While there, I tried Punsch ohne Schuss, Bratwurst, and gebrannte Mandeln.Punsch ohne Schuss is mulled wine, but we had the non-alcoholic version. I was not a fan of this, but was happy I tried it.I’ve had German Bratwurst in Canada, but this was my first time having it in Germany. To be honest, it tasted pretty much the same. I only ate about half of it before deciding I was done with it so Matthias finished it for me.The gebrannte Mandeln (roasted almonds) were my favourite! I had about a handful of these while we were walking around.
After arriving home, we started on making a new to me recipe. Matthias’ mom found a recipe for Caramel Almond Fudge so we gave it a try. I think the measurements were off because it didn’t make as much as it said it would.
Anyways, after this, we had a brownie for a late afternoon snack. As for supper, we had leftover lasagna from last night! I don’t know why, but lasagna always tastes better the second day to me. It’s the same with pizza too! Those were my eats from yesterday! Now I’m off to start the packing process as well as write a few blog posts for the next couple of days.
Have a great day!
Have you been to a Christmas Market before? I have been to Christmas craft sales or bake sales which I would think of as the same.
What do you think tastes better the day after it’s made? Besides lasagna and pizza, I would say brownies! They’re 10x better after they’ve sat in the fridge overnight.
