Last Weekend of August

Good Morning Everyone! Did you have a good weekend? Mine was spent working, but thanks to some fun food and a FaceTime date with the boyfriend, it ended up being a decent one. Can anyone else not believe tomorrow will be September 1st? It’s crazy to me.

Anyways, I wanted to recap some of my weekend through some pictures I snapped on my phone. I’ll be linking up with Katie for Marvelous in my Monday and Erin for Weekend Snapshots!

Let’s go back to Saturday morning when I had the best bowl of oatmeal ever! As mentioned in my Friday Favorites last week, I had been back on the zoats train. Well, I decided to make it look pretty for you all and snap a picture. Don’t be fooled, afterwards it was looking like the usual vomit when it was all mixed up!11924790_10156656914945377_2048768035_nFriday after work I sadly ate my last Quest bar. It was in S’mores and I baked it before topping it with peanut butter, chocolate, and whip cream. It was delicious!11923021_10156656914975377_2103959593_nSaturday morning I stopped by the market to my favorite booth to pick up some raw goodies. I also picked up some zucchini so I could keep making zoats. The raw goodies I bought this week was a cinnamon roll, banana chocolate chip cookies, and my usual chocolate peanut butter protein bar. All were delicious!MarketFindsMy breakfast Saturday was also really tasty. I was craving sweet and savory so I made my last cinnamon raisin English muffin and put peanut butter on it. I also made eggs with zucchini. I had some raspberries and blueberries with it too! It was really good!11939041_10156656914980377_60125846_nSaturday after work I made what may be my favorite combination. My boyfriend seems to think it was the weirdest thing, but it was so good! I mixed cottage cheese, greek yogurt, and chocolate pudding. Then I topped it with half of a protein bar (the one from the market), whip cream, raspberries and blueberries! It was really tasty!11911666_10156656914970377_635962206_nThat brings us to Sunday. I don’t actually have any pictures from Sunday, but it started out bad. I wasn’t in a great mood and didn’t even finish my workout. Luckily, I had a FaceTime date with Matthias and that put me in a much better mood. Work went alright, it wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad then I was headed for my mom’s for the night. I made a stop at DQ on my way, but kind of regret it. I don’t like when I regret food choices, but halfway through my drive I felt really down about it. I kept telling myself that I should have just stopped at a gas station and grabbed some fruit and a protein bar or something. By the time I got to my mom’s I had stopped telling myself this and accepted that I had been craving greasy food. Sure it wasn’t the best for me, but you need to treat yourself sometimes. I stopped feeling regret and was fine again.

Sometimes you just need to stop over analyzing things you do and just go with them. As long as I don’t eat DQ everyday, there isn’t a problem with it every once in awhile. I feel like there are a lot of things like that in life. As long as you have moderation with it, it’s all good!

On that note, I’m off to breakfast with my mom. Afterwards, we’re going to be doing some shopping for when I go to Germany! 11 days and counting!

Have a great Monday and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Friday Favorites #22: Week of 8/28

Happy Friday! How has everyone’s week been? Mine flew by and now I’m working all weekend! The nice thing is that I have 9 shifts left including today! Seeing that number is giving me the push to get through. Also, I’m two weeks away from flying to Germany!! That is nuts!

Onto the post, it’s Friday so it means it’s time for my favorites! As always, I have to thank our hostess with the mostest, Heather for creating this link up! Let’s get on with the show!Friday Favorites Link Up Botton Life In Leggings

  • zoats

The past two days, I have resorted back to my trusty zoats for breakfast. They keep me full for a looonnnggg time which is what I need and they are super tasty! In yesterday’s bowl I had oats, zucchini, ground flax, chia seeds and cinnamon. After cooking for two minutes, I added some egg whites and nuked them again. I do 3 30 second intervals, making sure to stir each time so that eggs don’t make it gross. Then I added Snickerdoodle PEScience Select Protein and stuck it in the fridge while I got ready for work. I like my oats on the cold side so this is what I do. After 15-20 minutes, I melted some peanut butter to add on top. Other toppings included pumpkin seeds, blueberries, raspberries, and fat free chocolate pudding. I wish I had of taken a picture, but it didn’t look that pretty. Man oh man these were tasty!

This is why I love Taylor Swift. She did a duet at one of her recent shows with Lisa Kudrow singing the classic “Smelly Cat.” It’s a short clip, but it makes me so happy to watch!Sure, Taylor Swift has had some famous guests join her on stage during the 1989 World Tour. But nothing — AND I MEAN NOTHING — will top Lisa Kudrow making an appearance, and singing a "Smelly Cat" duet with Taylor.

This dad definitely wins the Most Creative Dad Award! The lunches he creates for his kids are beyond cute! I only hope one day my future kids will actually appreciate that I make them a lunch, I know I won’t be able to do anything this creative.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

  • going to bed early to wake up early

I’ve become an early bird this summer and I really enjoy it. I’ll be asleep by ten at the latest and will wake up around 5:30 to get ready to go to the gym. My boyfriend thinks I’m crazy and is really hoping I don’t do it when I’m in Germany. It just makes sense to me especially with my job. Plus being able to check something off my to do list by 7 in the morning feels pretty nice. I don’t have to keep thinking about how I have to go to the gym after my 10-hour shift when my legs and feet are sore.

I’d love to know,

  • What are some of your favorites this week?
  • Are you an early riser?

That’s all for today folks! Have a great Friday and an awesome weekend!

WIAW #36: almost a fail

Good Morning! How is everyone’s week going? Mine is dragging by, but I’m super happy to be off today! I am starting to cherish my final days off. I leave in 16 days so still have a lot to do! If anyone has any packing tips, I would love to hear them! I’m really bad and leave it to the last minute because I think I’ll need everything even when I don’t.

Anyways, today is Hump Day which means I get to show you what I ate earlier in the week! I didn’t get pictures of all my food, but did get quite a few! As always, a humongous thank you to Jenn for creating and to Laura who will be hosting this week! Let’s get into it!

What I Ate Wednesday Monday

Breaky: Snickerdoodle Fluffcake topped with White Chocolate Dreams peanut butter and Walden FarmsIMG_2288Lunch: chicken, green beans and mini potatoes (unpictured) as well as some celery with peanut butter (this is definitely not what mine looked like, but thanks Pinterest for such a super cute picture!)145312lrgSupper: leftover hamburger and zucchini from Sunday (Fun Fact: the zucchini was inhaled as soon as I walked in the door after the gym which is why there is no picture)IMG_2292Snack: Snickerdoodle Protein Sludge (protein powder mixed with a little bit of water then stuck in the freezer to get colder) and some ice cream with oreos (the sludge was also inhaled pretty quickly so no picture and the ice cream picture is a recycled picture, told you I failed at pictures on this day)11897165_10156610658470377_166795690_nOverall, it was a pretty good day of eats! Have a great day!!

A Weekend Off

Good Morning Everyone! Anyone else find the weekend passed way too quick? I had the past two days off and spent it at various family things. I’m 18 days out from flying to Germany so the family time was appreciated since I don’t know if I’ll see most of them before I go!

I’ll be linking up with Katie for Marvelous in my Monday and Erin for Weekend Snapshots. Thanks ladies! And now let’s recap my marvelous weekend!

Saturday morning I was up early to knock out a leg workout before heading to the market for some raw treats. I picked up my favorite Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bar as well as a Salted Caramel Torte that was delicious! I wish I took a picture, but they were inhaled too quickly. I need to know how she made her crust for the torte. I also made it to the bank to pick up some Euros! Aren’t they so pretty!IMG_2287

The exchange rate isn’t the best, but I knew I should have some. Afterwards, I headed to the post office to send something that has to do with my student loans, yippee..

Following all my errands, I headed to my Grammie’s to help bring stuff to set up for our family reunion. I didn’t know many people, but there was a lot of good food that I ate! The rest of that evening I took it easy and relaxed.

Sunday started much like Saturday with an early morning workout. This time I did a quick 20-minute HIIT workout. Afterwards, I headed to a diner for breakfast with two of my friends from work. I always love spending time with them! Following this, it was cottage time! I’ve only been out to the cottage twice this summer and both weren’t for very long. IMG_2284

When we first got there, we spent some time with my cousin and her family before they left for home. Following their departure, my two other cousins and their families showed up so my sister and I spent time with them. We BBQed for lunch! Just as we were to leave, my aunt and uncle finally arrived so we spent a few minutes chatting with them before heading to another commitment. IMG_2285

Last night, was one of my other cousin’s wedding shower. Since I leave the day before her wedding, it was nice to celebrate her big day. I made it home around 8 and after two days of constantly being around people, it was nice to relax at home before crawling into bed early.

Have a good Monday! I’ll be back on Wednesday with a look at my eats from today!

Friday Favorites #21: Week of 8/21

Good Morning! I can truly participate in the Fri-yay feelings today! I have the weekend off after today so I’m counting down the hours! This will likely be my last weekend off all summer so I’m going to take advantage of it! I have plans to go to the market, check some things off of my to do list, a family reunion, and hanging out with a couple of friends! Do you have any fun plans to look forward to this weekend?

Like most Fridays, I’ll be sharing my favourites from this past week! A big, big thank you to Heather for hosting this link up! You can pop over there if you’re interested in looking at some other favorites!Friday Favorites Link Up Botton Life In Leggings

  • fluffcakes

I’ve seen this on Kenzie’s Instagram and I had been wanting to try it! I finally did the other day and I am now obsessed! They are super easy to make and customize! If you want to try it yourself, click through here!IMG_2279

  • grilled chicken

Earlier this week I spent the afternoon and evening at my mom’s. For supper we had some burgers done on the BBQ so I thought ahead and brought some chicken down to meal prep a little. I now have a big container of grilled chicken in the fridge! It’s been so nice to just grab some to put in my lunch for work!IMG_2273

  • cold showers

Coming home from work this past two weeks I have been a hot and sticky mess. The heat wave we have been experiencing is nuts! To combat this, I’ve been enjoying a lot of cold showers! It has been really refreshing and makes my nighttime routine very nice.

A little shorter of a post this morning, but I haven’t changed much this week so nothing too new to report for favorites. I’m three weeks out from finally flying to Germany and being with my boyfriend again! I have been counting down all summer and it is getting so close! I’m trying to get as organized as possible this weekend because I won’t have many days off the last weeks of work. I am just so excited to see him again and to experience a new kind of culture. If anyone has any travel tips I would love to hear them!

WIAW #35

Good Morning! How is everyone doing? It has been hot, hot hot the past few days and the next few days are looking to be the same. Working long hours in the heat has definitely kicked me in the butt. Yesterday I had the day off after 5 days on and I’m back for another 3 starting today. The good news is that I’m off Saturday and Sunday! This is my first weekend off that I haven’t booked off all summer!

In true Wednesday fashion, it’s time for a full day of my eats! As always, a big, big thank you to Jenn for creating this link up and to Arman for hosting this week! I won’t keep you waiting any longer, it’s time to dive right in!

Friday Favorites #20: Week of 8/14

Good Morning! How is everyone doing today? Is anyone ready for the weekend? I’ll be spending the weekend working and it is suppose to be hot and humid all weekend which means busy days for me! With the humidity, we’re going to see temperatures in the 30’s until next Wednesday!

As always in true Friday fashion, it is time to take a look at my favorites! A huge thank you goes out to a hostess with the mostest, Heather! Head over there to see some other favorites!Friday Favorites Link Up Botton Life In Leggings

  • veggie burger

This was the first veggie burger I have eaten and it was delicious! Earlier in the week, my friend Steph and I went to a local vegetarian restaurant and I decided to go with this. I was not disappointed! It also came with roasted potatoes that were to die for!IMG_2232

  • egg whites with zucchini and toast with avocado and a runny egg

I love this combo for breakfast! I cut up the zucchini into little pieces and cook for a little bit before adding the egg whites. For the toast, I’ll typically use a multigrain or 12 grain then mash up some avocado and add an egg that is overeasy on top! It is soooo good!IMG_2250

  • mini yellow potatoes

After having those roasted potatoes at the vegetarian restaurant, I knew I needed to have some in my meals for work. So, I bought some of the mini yellow potatoes, cut them in half and then added some olive oil, paprika, pepper, and garlic to them before roasting them at 400 until I could pierce them with a fork!

  • getting a phone upgrade

My two year phone contract is almost up so earlier this week I went and got a new phone. I had previously had the iPhone 4s and my back camera was broken. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money and knew I wanted another iPhone so I went with the 5s. The price had dropped to 49.95 so I jumped on it. It is so nice to have a better camera on it and that it actually works. I also like the bigger screen!IMG_2252

I saw this pinned on Pinterest and made me fall in love with Ellen even more. I love how positive she is and outlook on life! She is down right hilarious! Untitled

Well, that’s all from me today! I hope you have a great weekend!
