Weekend Spent Working

Happy Monday Folks!

For many, Mondays mean back to work, but for me, I have this Monday off! I worked Friday-Sunday so I am very happy to have the day off!

I usually share my Weekend Recap on Mondays, I figured I would skip over the work bits and talk about a few fun things I did on the weekend besides working as well as a couple fun things from this morning! I’ll be linking up with Katie since Mondays are meant to be Marvelous!

Saturday morning I went for breakfast with my mom and an old family friend who I hadn’t seen in over a year! We went to a diner in my town that I’ve been going to since I was a kid! I decided to keep it simple and just go for two poached eggs and two pieces of toast. I didn’t want to load up on sugar when I had to go into work afterwards. Whenever I get eggs at a restaurant, I always get them poached because I’ve always been too afraid to try poaching eggs myself. I also brought my own avocado in to put on the toast. My mom thought I was being weird, but I wanted it and I knew they wouldn’t have it. Please tell me I’m not the only one that does this!

We got done breakfast and I still had an hour and a half before work so I made a trip to the Farmer’s Market. Before work started, I would go every Saturday, but now I work most Saturdays and would have be there at like 7:30 if I wanted to go. There’s a raw booth that one of my coworkers was talking about that I had always wanted to try, but never had. Well, today was the day! I had one of their Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars and it has become a new favorite! I know I’ll have to go back and get not only another one, but I also want to try some of their other treats! I also decided to get a cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting from another booth because I hadn’t had one in forever! Funny how I didn’t get anything heavy at the diner, but ended up getting something sweet anyways. When I was younger and my dad would take me to the market, he would always buy me one of the cinnamon rolls so it always brings back childhood memories when I get them.

That’s all the exciting bits from the weekend, now let’s talk about this morning! I mentioned earlier in this post that I had never poached my own eggs before. Well, I tried to do it this morning and it wasn’t a fail! It turned out really well!IMG_2172

I also went grocery shopping and picked up a few goodies to try. I bought Chocolate Peanut Butter, Apple Pie Greek Yogurt, and Watermelon Ice Cream!IMG_2174

I’ve already tried the peanut butter and it was delicious! I’m hoping to try the other two today as well so I can mention them in my WIAW post this week. Since I work tomorrow, I’m going to do my eats from today!

That’s all from me today, I’m off to hit a workout at the gym! I’d love to hear about your weekend! Did you do anything exciting? Did you have a relaxing weekend? Let me know!

Friday Favorites #14: Week of 6/26

Hello! I had another total blog fail today! I had planned on typing this up last night, but ended up watching too much Netflix. I worked all day today so I wanted to apologize for only getting to it now! It’s Friday, which means it’s time to share some favorites! I have a quite a few new food related ones that I’m excited to talk about. As always, I’ll be linking up with Heather today for her Friday Favorites Link Up! Thanks for creating/hosting Heather! Shall we get into it?

  • Laughing Cow cheese

I talked about this in my WIAW the other day, but I freaking love Laughing Cow cheese! I bought the Light kind and I just love how creamy it is! I mix it in with my eggs or have it with crackers. I highly recommend this kind and am hoping to try some of the other flavors!

  • Waffles

Waffles will always be my favorite, but this week especially! On days that I work, I come home and usually have a lot of carbs and protein left to hit so I end up making awesome protein waffles with all of the toppings! I eat them too quickly to take a picture so you’ll just have to imagine how great they are!

  • Avocado

Did I mention that I would be talking about a lot of food? I don’t usually buy avocado, but I decided to treat my self and bought a few. I have been mixing it in with my eggs along with the cheese or mashing it up to have with crackers (again with the cheese). I could eat avocado on it’s own, but I’m really trying to not go too crazy!

  • French Toast

Everything I’m talking about was included in my WIAW… oops. In the mornings, I’ve been loving just having a piece of french toast on my way to work. I get hungry really quickly so having something right before I start work helps a little bit. I make mine really simple with just egg whites and cinnamon, but it tastes sooo good!

  • Marriage Equality

Last, but certainly not least, I wanted to talk about the exciting news that happened today in the US. Same-sex marriage is legal in all 50 states as of today! That is so exciting and I don’t even live in America! It makes me so happy that people are able to marry who they want now. This has been a long time coming and I am very honored to be able to live in a time where this is possible!

That’s it for today! I’m going to start planning out my posts better because I feel like my quality of them are lacking and I don’t like that! I hope everyone has a great weekend! I’ll be busy working all weekend, but am looking forward to a couple gym sessions and breakfast with my mom tomorrow!

WIAW #28

Hello! How is everyone doing today? I am so excited about this What I Ate Wednesday because I had so many good eats yesterday that I have been dying to share! Let’s get this party started!

What I Ate Wednesday Tuesday

Pre-workout: I made a slice of french toast using 100g of egg whites and cinnamon. I also topped it with a little Walden Farms Pancake Syrup. I have recently been loving how simple yet delicious this is! It’s super quick too, but if you had the time, you could top it with some fruit, nut butter, etc. I ate this about a half hour before my workout and it did a great job at fueling my ham/glute workout as well as a little run!11650677_10156392140205377_1135502329_nBreaky: With my workout done for the day, I made another new favorite of mine which included an egg, 126g of egg white, avocado, and a Laughing Cow cheese wedge! This was actually my first time (finally) trying Laughing Cow and man oh man – it is awesome! I love how creamy it is. 11657577_10156392140245377_1896900802_nSnack: A little while later, I snacked on some wholegrain crackers with peanut butter. I picked these crackers up at my local grocery store since they were 50% and they are so delicious! They’re made with quinoa, spelt, millet, and kamut wheat flour. 11655148_10156392140285377_1563974635_nLunch: I made a pizza using Flatout bread, turkey pepperoni, cheese, and Classico tomato and basil sauce. This is seriously going to be my new go to when I am craving pizza! So good and so not bad for you!11655135_10156392141135377_1974927775_nSnacks: Fibre 1 chocolate brownie and Single Serving Pumpkin Donuts with Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Frosting. Those donuts I whipped up when I had a sweet craving that didn’t go away. I threw some stuff together and hoped for the best. They turned out really good for only having 20C/14P/4F. I have the recipe on my Instagram, but if I should share it here, let me know!11655312_10156392141185377_820953828_n 11651244_10156392141150377_1026188406_nSupper: I grilled up some chicken and paired it with corn on the cob. I cannot tell you the last time I ate corn straight off the cob; it was delicious. I did the corn in the microwave and the husk slid right off!11651161_10156392141230377_280909220_nDessert: I made chocolate banana ice cream! I mixed avocado in for the first time and it made it so creamy! I topped it with melted peanut butter before finishing it off with a Skinny Cow Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich and some Vanilla Cupcake Goldfish. It was a great end to an amazing day of eats!11269550_10156392142980377_1914619841_n 11650676_10156392142985377_1567247103_nAs you may of noticed, I had a lot of new treats during this WIAW. That is because I went grocery shopping on Monday night and bought some new to me things to try. I picked up some staples and also a couple things I hadn’t bought in awhile. 11638120_10156392140270377_1257036484_nI still haven’t tried the Mrs. Dash Sloppy Joe Seasoning or the Silk Creamy Cashew, but I have been wanting to for awhile. I’ll be sure to let you know how I find them! In the mean time, I hope you have a great rest of the week! I’ll check back in with some favourites on Friday!

Friday Favorites #13: Week of 6/19

Good Morning! I can’t believe it’s already Friday, this week flew by for me. Does anyone have any fun weekend plans? I’ll be working Saturday-Monday so I don’t have much else planned except for some gym trips.

Today’s Friday and you know what that means – it’s time to share some favorites! As always, a huge thank you to Heather for hosting this end of the week party! If anyone wants to go look at what other people are enjoying head over to her site! Let’s get started!

  • donut pan

So I haven’t actually used this yet, but I ordered a donut pan off of Amazon and I am so excited to experiment with it today! I’m going to make some healthier donuts as well as some not so healthy ones. I don’t know why, but I always seem to have a craving for them. This will be a nice way to know exactly what is going into my body.

  • Katie’s cookbook

This also came in the mail on Wednesday after ordering it off of Amazon. I have used a handful of Katie’s recipes in the past and they always turn out great! I’m looking forward to trying some new ones out of her cookbook now that I have it.download

I found this article on Buzzfeed and found myself laughing out loud at a lot of the points. My favorites include: being let into the secret of the majestic House Hippo (I definitely thought these were real until I was a teenager), Freaky Stories (it happened to a friend of a friend of mine), and Bodybreak with Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod (I always sang along to the song). This article really brought me back to my childhood. I feel bad for those that didn’t get to experience the 90’s. I know I was only born in ’93, but I know all of the things from this article and consider myself to be a 90’s kid. A few of the people that I work with were born in the year 2000! This makes me feel ancient!!

  • waffles

The past couple of nights, I’ve been enjoying finishing off my macros with waffles. Last night, my waffle was chocolate protein with a peanut butter marshmallow protein topping. It was absolutely delicious!IMG_2082

(recycled photo since I ate my waffles way too fast to take a picture)

  • seeing changes

I may have mentioned this on Monday, but I have really enjoyed seeing my body change over the past month and a bit that I have been consistently going to the gym and counting macros! I’m getting stronger and am feeling leaner. I love it and am excited as to where my body will go from here.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I’d love to hear what your favorites were this week or if you have any exciting plans for the summer.

WIAW #27

Happy Hump Day Everyone!! I don’t know about you, but my week is flying by! I had the day off yesterday so I took it pretty easy and managed to capture all of my food on camera. I think this may be the first time I have a picture for everything! As always, a big thanks to Jenn for starting this link up and Arman for hosting this week! This is one of my favorite link ups because I love food and it gives me ideas for future meals! If you’re like me and want to look at other people’s food, click on the link above to head over to the party! Let’s get started!

What I Ate Wednesday Tuesday

Breaky: I had my favorite turkey bacon, egg and zucchini lettuce wraps IMG_2128

Snack: Quest bar in Cookies and CremeIMG_2129

Lunch: I made a Pumpkin Protein Smoothie Bowl which ended up making so much that I ate 3/4 of it pre-workout and the rest post-workout. Xantham gum is no joke when it comes to making things have more volume!IMG_2130

Pre-supper Snack: I was a little hungry while making my chicken so I snacked on a caramel rice cake with the last of my caramel greek yogurt cream cheeseIMG_2131

Supper: I was still pretty full so I only ate around 6:30. I had some grilled chicken breast to keep me full until my last snackIMG_2132

Snack: I wanted to make this fit so bad today so I planned my entire day around it… Jurassic Smash Blizzard! It was so worth it! Peanut butter cookies and cookie dough blended up with ice cream! If you are able to try it, I would definitely recommend it!IMG_2134

Even though it doesn’t look like I ate that much yesterday, I wasn’t super hungry at all. I waited a couple hours after I woke up to have breakfast so my lunch only ended up being eaten around 2. If I’m able to do this, I will. I can’t do it when I’m working, but my days off I’d like to start doing it. I get a lot more hungry in the evening so holding off on breakfast lets me have more macros to work with when I get super hungry!

Hope everyone has a great day! Feel free to share what you ate yesterday or today!!

Weekend Recap #5

Hi Friends! How was your weekend and how has your Monday been? I have had a great day! Since my day has been so marvelous, I thought I would link up with Katie again this week! Let’s get into the recap!

Friday

Friday I had the last day of preseason work. I worked 9-5 and was able to finish stocking the gift shops. Following work, I went home and Facetimed with Matthias before heading to my friend’s house to make t-shirts for House Crawl on Saturday.

Saturday

I woke up early and went to the gym at 7 with my sister. Following the gym, we had breakfast then headed to do some grocery shopping. We went to Costco and a grocery store. Following this, I made a BBQ Chicken Pizza on a pita.IMG_2117

After relaxing for a little bit, I got to work at making some food for a BBQ Potluck. I had planned to make Red Velvet Cake Brownies from Julie’s recipe. I had made it in the past and it was delicious! For whatever reason this time, they started to fall apart when I went to ice them. I changed my plan to Brownie Balls dipped in chocolate. I also made Katie’s Cookie Dough Dip that I had also made before. I changed the way I made it a little bit and I liked the way it came out!IMG_2119IMG_2122

With my goodies in hand, I headed to my friend’s house to start the festivities. I’m happy say my Brownie Balls turned out to be a success! Also, people liked my dip too so that was good! This was the start of House Crawl 2015! We started doing these three years ago and it’s so fun to get together with my friends. Like a pub crawl, we go to different venues. In this case it is three of my friend’s houses. It was a really fun night. I’m turning into a grandma and am in bed fairly early so staying out later on Saturday was a little tough. All in all, it was great!IMG_2123

Sunday

Sunday morning I was up and at work early for customer service training. It was a good learning experience even though I knew most of what was being said. Following this, I stayed a little longer to do some stock in the food areas. I met my sister at the gym after this for a Back and Bis workout. My sister took a picture of me and I am so proud of the progress I’ve made. I’m looking forward to seeing what changes I make throughout the rest of the summer!IMG_2126

I’d love to hear how your weekend was! Did you do anything fun?

Friday Favorites #12: Week of 6/12

Hello and Happy Friday! Is anyone else looking forward to the weekend? I know I am! Once I’m off at 5, I’ll be very happy!

Overall, I had a great week at work, but I am looking forward to next week even more! We open on Monday and I couldn’t be more excited! Pre-season work is over after today, I have tomorrow off then I’m back to work on Sunday for customer service training. Then, I work Monday-Wednesday and Saturday of next week! Next week is also payday so I’m looking forward to that as well!

Today I’ll be sharing some of the things I’ve been loving. As always, a big thank you to Heather for hosting this weekly link up! If you are interested in seeing what other people have as favourites you should check out her link up! I’d also love to know what you have been enjoying, so if you’d like to share in the comments, that would be awesome!

And now, on to my favorites!

  • wrapping things in lettuce

This might sound weird, but I have been loving lettuce wraps! For breakfast as shown in my WIAW, I put egg and turkey bacon in them. I also had fish earlier in the week and I’ve done tacos that way before too! It gives it a nice crunch, but I’m getting some more greens in.IMG_2111

  • my new glasses

My new glasses came in a few weeks ago and they are my favorite! I hadn’t gotten new glasses many years so when these came in, I was very happy!IMG_2096

  • overnight oats

I had this in my WIAW too, but I had forgotten how much I love overnight oats! I have been making them with Cellucor’s Peanut Butter Marshmallow protein and it turns out so good! I definitely want to start having them a could times a week. They’re good as a pre-workout meal too!IMG_2116

  • Vanilla Cupcake Goldfish

When I used to babysit at school, the girl’s always had these and I may have stolen a few every now and then. They were on sale this week so I bought a bag. They are really tasty and good when you want something that is a little sweet! IMG_2109

I’m off to go get ready for work! I hope everyone has a great weekend! Share some of your faves in the comments!
