Fitness Goals

Hello, how’s everyone’s Monday going today?

Mine started out with an early workout that went really well. I focused on hamstrings and glutes today. After I finished my workout, I worked on pull ups. Pull ups are one my fitness goals that I am trying to achieve. Today’s work consisted of 3 sets of 5 pull ups with a band to assist me. Following this, I did 5 negatives on my own. I am actually a lot farther than I thought I would be at doing pull ups. It’s a goal that I’ll be working on over the next couple of months.

My pull up goal got me thinking about other goals I want to reach in regards to fitness. I thought I would share those today along with the different ways I am hoping to achieve them.

Besides pull ups, I also want to be able to do a pistol squat. The main thing holding me back from this is that I have bad flexibility so I can’t straighten my leg out completely. I can do alright at getting into the position otherwise. I’ve been using a band to hold onto as I lower myself down. I try not to rely on it too much, just enough so that I do not fall or something.

I’d also like to be able to run longer. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile, but I find it hard to enjoy running. My ultimate goal would be a half marathon, but that’s in the far future. I’d be happy if I could run for 45-60 minutes at one time. I plan to do this by going on runs at least twice a week and I would up my time every week.

My final goal, is to do a bikini competition. This is something that I have recently become interested in. In the end, I do not really consider this a goal for the current year, mainly due to financial reasons and some other ones, but one day I think it would be fun to do. I’ve been getting interested in different Youtubers or Instagrammers that do bikini competition and I think it would be fun to do a show at some point.

Friday Favourites #8: Week of 4/17

Good Morning!

I told myself I was going to write this post yesterday so that I would only need to publish it this morning, but that did not happen. Today I am going to share some of the things I have been loving as of late. I’ll be linking up with Heather so be sure to head over there if you’re interested in seeing more favourites!

1. Finally figuring out what is wrong with my stomach

I never mentioned this on the blog, but about a month before Christmas I kept getting these really bad stomach aches when I ate. Fast forward to now, I’ve had an x-ray, ultrasound, and have been on medication. I would still get pain here and there, but I wanted to know what was wrong. I went to my doctor yesterday to look over my results and I have really bad acid reflux. I was still having some pain so my doctor has switched me to a new medication to try, but I’m just happy I know what it is now. It’s suppose to be genetic, but there’s no history of it so I’m not really sure why I have it. I also will be having a scope done just to double-check that there is nothing else happening.

2. Quest S’mores Bar

The other day I stopped by GNC and finally picked up this flavour. I had been looking forward to trying it since it came out. I was not disappointed! They are delicious!!

3. Spring weather

The past few days have been absolutely beautiful! Spring has definitely sprung! Being able to wear Toms again makes me so happy!


4. Time to relax

Since I am all finished exams, it is nice to be able to finally relax. I’ve been lounging around, going to the gym and running some errands. It’s so nice not having to study!

5. Pitch Perfect

Since I have had a lot of free time, I have been watching YouTube videos. I absolutely love seeing behind the scenes footage and interviews from movies. The Pitch Perfect cast is hilarious so I’ve been watching a ton of stuff from them! It is also making me so excited for Pitch Perfect 2! It comes out the day after my birthday!

WIAW #22

Good Morning! How are you doing today? I have a busy day of errands, but before I head out, I wanted to share what I ate yesterday. Of all the posts, WIAW’s are the ones I’ve missed doing the most so I hope you enjoy!

What I Ate Wednesday Tuesday

I’ve been trying out IIFYM for the past few weeks and although it is tough to hit my macros when I’m eating at meal hall, I have really enjoyed it. I’m excited to head home and be able to cook all my meals and actually know what is in my food. Today was a good day for macros for me. I know the goal is to hit them, that’s why you have a goal, but I don’t usually come close to hitting them. Today, I hit my goal for carbs, had 4 fat and 1 protein left over. Not too shabby! Anyways, enough rambling, I’ll get to the food!

Pre-workout: I had a banana and my C4 Pink Lemonade Pre-WorkoutIMG_1847 Post-workout: since I went to the gym at 9, by the time I was done meal hall had closed so I had a scoop and a half of Cellucor’s Cor-Fetti Cake Batter Whey as my breakfast/post-workout meal. I love the sprinkles in this protein, it makes it so much better (not that they really taste like anything)Lunch: unpictured, but I had some potatoes and a sandwich using Country Harvest Ancient Grains, turkey deli meat and cucumbers.IMG_1849

Snack: in the afternoon, I had two packages of the Tree Top fruit snacks. Matthias bought them at Costco and I absolutely love them! IMG_1850Supper: meal hall was really good tonight! There was maple salmon, wild rice and roasted broccoli. Usually when they do salmon it ends up being dry, but today it was sooo good! IMG_1852Snack: I put a Quest Cookies N Creme bar in the microwave for around 15 seconds to soften it up and then topped it with peanut butter. I also calculated half a scoop of protein into my macros if I am hungry before I go to bed, but I am not sure if I’ll end up drinking it or not. Edit: I didn’t have the protein shake, but I did end up eating some Cinnastix from Domino’s (oops)IMG_1853Well that’s it for today, I’m off to go run some errands. Oops I did it again..

I feel like I keep apologizing for taking breaks. It’s always the same excuse too. However, now that I have time, I want to get back into blogging. I have missed it the past three months! Here’s hoping I actually stay on track this time.

Since I have been gone three months, it’s time for updates!

1. I’M ALL DONE UNIVERSITY!!! I had my last exam on Saturday. I am officially done my degree! It’s a weird feeling because I’m not going to be looking for a full time job that has to do with my degree for a little while. This summer I’ll be going back to my summer job for the 8th year in a row! I decided last summer that I was going to go back for one more year. That’s one of the reasons why I don’t be looking for a job right away.

2. Another is that I’m going to Germany in September! I booked my ticket about a month ago to go spend almost 3 months in Europe. Matthias is going back to Germany on May 1st and I fly there on September 11th. While there, the plan is to look into getting a job so I can stay longer. I’m really excited to go, but also really nervous. The only time I flew on a plane was when I was a baby so I’ve never really flown before. Not only will I be flying for basically the first time, but I’ll be going to Europe and will have 2 layovers. I’ve never left North America before so there’s going to be a lot of firsts. As nervous as I am to go, I am way more excited!!

3. I changed the theme again. I’ve decided I like simple ones for right now. This one screams simple. It’ll probably stay this way for awhile unless I change my mind again haha.

Besides those three updates, everything has been pretty chill here. I’ve been busy with school and when I was not busy, I was hanging out with friends or Matthias. Even though I am done my exams, I am still at university being an RA for another 10 days. My plan is to relax, go to the gym, catch up on TV series, and hang out with my friends who I won’t be seeing that often anymore. I will also be getting back on the blogging wagon. I’m looking forward to posting and coming up with new ideas.
