Good Morning! Does anyone know where August went? I feel like it was just August 1st yesterday! It’s crazy that I’m headed back for my final year in about an hour! I’m also really nervous this year for some reason. I think it is because I am going to a new residence as a proctor (or RA as most schools call them) and I’ve never done it before. It feels a little bit like 1st year all over again! Anyways, today I am going to share with you some of my recent favs! A big thanks to Heather for hosting this weekly link-up!
I decided earlier this week that I wanted to do something for my management team at work before I left. I got a thank you card and wrote a nice message in it, but I also wanted to make something. I wanted something with a few ingredients and that wouldn’t take a long time. I’ve been reading Courtney’s blog for about a year now and always thought her recipes looked really good. I decided to make her Oreo Truffle Balls. The best part – only 3 ingredients! They were super simple and taste sooo good!
I mentioned these in my WIAW this week! I got the plain chicken kind and I love them. They’re great when I want something quick that will fill me up!
Homemade Chicken Nuggets
Another thing from my WIAW this week were these guys! I don’t know why I waited so long to try making my own chicken nuggets, but boy am I glad I did! These were super tasty!
I think I mentioned this last week too, but this past week has been really difficult. I love my friends I have here and I’ve definitely become closer with more people at work so leaving is really hard! The other night, I went to trivia with my friends at a local bar. Last night was Big Bike Ride with work. It’s a fundraiser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation where you raise money then bike on a giant bike (the name is pretty self-explanatory.) This year I helped picked the theme of Tourists! It was a super fun night to end my summer at home!
Well, I’m off to grab a bite to eat before I hit the road! I hope everyone has a great day/weekend! Here’s hoping three hours of sleep was enough!
Good Morning! Anyone else find this week is flying by? I’ve been trying to make the most of my last few days here so I’m starting to feel the tiredness today. Monday night I hung out with one of my really good friends, last night a group of us went to see Let’s Be Cops, and tonight I think another group of my friends are going to go to trivia at a local bar. Let’s Be Cops was actually pretty funny! I thought it was going to be completely stupid, but I found myself laughing a lot.
Today I’m sharing with you my eats from yesterday! As always, a big thank you to Jenn for hosting this link up every week!
What I Ate
Pre-workout: I stayed at a friend’s place Monday night and had a smoothie in the morning before heading to the gym
Breaky: Two pieces of Ezekiel bread with almond butter/banana and two eggs
Lunch: I bought the new Protinis to try this week so I had one heated up with cheese on a toasted flat bagel thin and honey mustard
Pre-work snack: A CCCD Quest bar (ate too fast to take a picture)
Supper: Homemade chicken nuggets and sweet potato fries
I coated the nuggets in ground flax seed, chia seeds, and some seasonings! They turned out really good!
Well I’m headed out to my second last shift of the summer, I hope everyone has a great day! I’m hoping to be check back in with some of my favourites on Friday before I head back to uni!
Good Morning! Long time no chat! I meant to post last week, but have been soaking up as much summer as I can. Between work and hanging out with my friends, I haven’t had much spare time. I go back to school on Friday for proctor training so I’m kind of in a yolo (anyone else love and hate that word) mood! I thought I would post about some marvelous things that have happened over the past couple weeks today! A big thank you to Katie for hosting this link up!
Seeing friends! I’ve been hanging out with a lot of friends the past few weeks since I won’t be seeing them when I go back to school. We has a little mini reunion with everyone in town that lived in my old residence! I also had a staff party last week and a couple other parties with some of my oldest friends! My best friend was in Italy all summer working as a nanny so getting to see her the other week was fantastic! We went out for lunch and caught up on everything we missed over the summer.
Not dying on a run! I haven’t been running as much as I would have liked, but I went for one last Thursday and it wasn’t completely awful! I’m hoping to get in at least two before I leave on Friday! I also got to rock my new hat!
Work! I’ve mentioned it before, but I love my job. I only have three shifts left and I’m really sad about it. I’ve already decided I’m going back next summer, but I know it isn’t ever the same because not all the same people come back. There is also a management supper the Monday after I leave for training so I am really hoping to make it back for that. I’m not getting my hopes up because part of accepting a proctorship means you’re fully committed for training week. I also haven’t met my dons yet so I am waiting until I get there to ask about it.
Yummy breakfast! Yesterday I noticed I had a ripe banana so I made some protein pancakes for breakfast. I warmed up some frozen strawberries and put them on top!
Thanking people! I’ve been thinking about doing something for my awesome management team at work before I leave and think I figured it out. I’m going to make them a little treat and write a nice card. I’m still not completely sure what I’m making for them. I was thinking Julie’s Red Velvet Cake Brownies (I’ve made them before and they are to die for) or Kasey’s Cookie Ball Truffles! If anyone has any ideas that are quick and peanut free please let me know!
Anyways, I have to go pick up some things for school! I hope everyone has a great day! I’ll be back Wednesday with a WIAW!
Hello everyone! I meant to post this morning, but time got away from me a little bit! How is everyone’s Friday going? Mine has been pretty great! I had a killer leg workout, lunch with my best friend, and am now relaxing for the rest of the night since I work the next three days! My best friend was a nanny over in Italy for the summer and just got home a couple days ago so it was great to catch up with her!
I’m going to share some of my favourites since it is Friday. I’m linking up with Heather! Thanks for such a great link up! It is always fun to see what people have been loving and get new ideas!
I ran out of my Quest bars about a month ago and was waiting for a store to put them on sale. Low and behold, a supplement store nearby is having their end of summer sale and had $5 dollars off! I got all three boxes for like $100! I know this is still a lot, but these bars are worth it! Whenever I have really bad cravings, I can have one of these and not feel bad!
A Victoria’s Secret just opened in the mall close by and I am in heaven! I went in the other day not planning on buying anything and came out with four things. I bought the Rose Lace Push-up Bralette (feels like you’re wearing a sports bra), two of the Boyfriend Pocket Tanks, and the Boyfriend Half Zip. Everything is super comfy which is what I love to wear at school and all the time. The bralette is great because it is super comfy, but I could wear it out under a top! Since I spent over $75, I got a ginormous tote bag! I wish I could show you how big it is!
The next three things aren’t quite favourites (I haven’t tried two of them yet), but I thought I would include since I just found them this week. The first is a Bounce Energy Ball. They had these on sale at my grocery store so I picked up the Peanut one to try. It was ok, but it wasn’t anything special.
The next thing I picked up is Love Grown Foods Oat Clusters in Chocolate Cocoa Goodness! I haven’t tried this yet, but it looks amazing! Has anyone tried this before?
Finally, I picked up this cereal at Target because I had a coupon for a dollar off. It’s the Archer Farms’ Muesli cereal. I’m looking forward to trying this too!
I hope everyone has a great weekend! What are some of your favourites at the moment?
Good Morning! How is everyone doing this week? I’m on my second day off and just finished up breakfast at mom’s place! I’m headed back home as soon as I write this post in the hopes I can tackle everything on my to do list!
I remembered to take a picture of almost everything yesterday so let’s get on with it! A big thanks to Jenn for hosting this great link-up every week!
What I Ate
Pre-workout: I’ve been loving these rice cakes with almond butter (also really good with some crunchy peanut butter)
Breaky: I used the last of the Ezekiel wraps that I mentioned on Friday and filled it with eggs, avocado and hot sauce
I woke up at 10 yesterday! I don’t know the last time I slept in that late! Anyways, because of this my wrap was more of a lunch. In the afternoon, I headed down to my mom’s. They eat supper later than I usually do, so on my way down and when I got here I had some snacks
Snacks: Oat bar from Starbucks to go with my Teavana® Shaken Iced Blackberry Mojito Tea Lemonade, apple, and a couple handfuls of vector
Supper: chicken, veggies, and sweet potatoes that were done on the BBQ
Dessert: I was craving chocolate and peanut butter so I made a double chocolate peanut butter mug cookie that turned out more cake like. It was so good! I wish I had of written down the recipe so I could share it!
Later on, I had another snack (it was a really snacky day!) This time I had a mix of shreddies and vector!
That’s it for me today, hope everyone has a great day!
Happy Friday! How has everyone’s week been? I have tomorrow off and it has been like a month since I have had a day off on the weekend! I’m excited, but it’s weird not to be working.
Today I thought I would share some of my favs from the past couple weeks! A big thanks to Heather for starting this weekly link-up! I always find it fun to look at other people’s favourites (I’m a nosy person!)
I’ve made it to the gym the past three days and holy moly I am sore! I did legs on Wednesday, upper body yesterday, and this morning I did some HIIT and abs! I’m hoping to keep putting the work in the next few weeks before I head back to school!
Speaking of school, I go back in three weeks! I’m RA-ing this year so we go back early for training. I’m super pumped to get back and see all my friends, but it’s always bittersweet because I always miss my friends at home and work. I want to make the most of my last three weeks here!
Food for Life Tortillas
These are so good! I was craving wraps this week so I picked up these when I did my grocery shopping. I don’t even know the last time I made a wrap before this week. The only downside to these is that they break super easily, but all in all I love them! I would definitely repurchase these!
House of Cards
Season two came out a long time ago, but I only just started watching it. I’m also only one episode in to the new season and I’m already hooked. I actually haven’t watched an episode in a couple nights so I might have to do that after work tonight.
I’ve been drinking green tea almost everyone morning for the past little while. I’m not a fan of coffee and there’s just enough caffeine in green tea to wake me up. I’ll usually boil water and pour it in the mug then let it steep in the fridge so by the time I’m done eating breakfast, it is nice and warm! I haven’t really tried any other teas, but I would love some suggestions if anyone has any!
Well I’m off to Victoria’s Secret (it just opened in the mall by me today) and then to work! Have a great weekend!
