Good afternoon everyone! Does anyone else ever set out to do something and completely forget to do it? That was me yesterday! I managed to snap a picture of my breakfast, but completely forgot the rest of my meals. I thought I would share my one picture I took, but for the rest of the post, I’m going to share some food that I really want to try. I figured I would still link up with Jenn since I’ll be sharing a lunch, supper, dessert, and snack option that I would really like to eat.

What I Ate Would Like to Eat Wednesday

Peas and Crayons

Breaky: egg white omelette with mushrooms and peppers (looks a little gross, but tastes amazing!)

And now onto my food wish list!

Lunch: I love a good grilled cheese so any of these options would make the best lunch! Thanks Martha Stewart for having my back!

Delectable gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches from Martha Stewart.

Snack: Katie’s Bite Sized Nutella Stuffed Mini Chocolate Tarts! Who doesn’t need a little afternoon pick me up? I wish I could eat chocolate 24/7 and it be considered normal or that I wouldn’t gain weight, but again this is my wish list so anything goes!

Supper: I love quesadillas and pizza so why not combine them for supper with a pizzadilla! Thanks Pinterest for making all my dreams come true!

Pizzadilla: Healthy Pizza Just Got Real

Dessert: on to my favourite meal of the day (yes I consider dessert a meal, who doesn’t?) This has to be hands down cheesecake. There is nothing I wouldn’t want more! I found this (again) on Pinterest, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake! The original recipe was posted over on Christy’s blog and I need to thank her for combining two of my favourite things!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake

Well that would be my food wish list, now I want to know what yours would be!? Feel free to comment and let me know!

MIMM #15

Good Morning! How was everyone’s weekend? I worked all weekend and had a rough stomach issue happen so mine wasn’t too great. Whenever I have a bad day, I try to think as positively as possible and tell myself that tomorrow is a new day. Anyways, I’m kicking off the week with my usual Marvelous in my Monday post. As always I cannot forget to thank Katie for starting and hosting this great weekly link-up!

A decent run! I didn’t have the best day at work on Friday so I thought I would go for a run after work. I did 3.6 km and only had to walk twice and it was up a hill so it wasn’t for too long. Also, my pace was just under 6:00 min/km! I haven’t been running in awhile so I was super pumped to see this!10440890_10154454114645377_2628854873177931923_n

Marvelous is…

Trying new recipes! We had a potluck at work Thursday night and I finally made Chocolate Covered Katie’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip! It was AMAZING! Not to mention, everyone that tried it seemed to love it! I’d show pictures, but it’s all gone!

Marvelous is…

Getting pretty things in the mail! I finally got my July Julep box. For those that don’t know, Julep does monthly boxes that started with just nail polish, but have expanded to body lotion, makeup, and other things. I always get excited to open them because the packaging is always super cute. This month I got three polishes: Braiden, Linden, and Dawn. I’m really excited to try these colours out!10414908_10154454114655377_2271011733416765894_n

Marvelous is…

Days off! I’m off today and Wednesday and it’s so nice to have a day to recharge. I’m heading to the gym in a bit, going to get groceries, meal prepping, then hanging out with a friend I think.

Marvelous is…

Luna bars! They were on sale at my grocery store a couple weeks ago so I thought I would pick some up to try. So far, I’ve tried Caramel Nut Brownie, Nutz Over Chocolate and S’mores. Nutz Over Chocolate is by far my favourite, but S’mores is really good too!10537438_10154454114650377_6068070814627042092_n

I hope everyone has a great day! I’ll check back in on Wednesday!

Hello! Can anyone else believe it is already Hump Day! This week is flying by! Yesterday marked my last month home for the summer. I can’t believe I go back to school in a month! The past three months have flown by! I’m excited to go back, but it is also bittersweet because I’ll miss all of my friends from here.

We might as well get into today’s post. It’s Wednesday so that means that it is time to look at a look my eats from a day this past week. As always, the biggest thanks and virtual hug goes out to Jenn for hosting this awesome link up. Call my nosy, but I just love looking at other people’s food and thanks to her I have so many options!

MIMM #14

Good Morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Today is a day off for me and I’m spending the morning at my mom’s before heading home after my safety inspection appointment. I thought I would share what I got up to the past few days. A big thanks to Katie for hosting this marvelous link up every week!

Marvelous is…

Pancakes that are super simple to make! These ones are made with a mashed banana, two eggs, and some cinnamon. When they were ready, I topped them with applesauce, cinnamon, and blueberries. Yummy in my tummy! I ate this Friday before going hiking.

Marvelous is…

Going hiking! My friend and I did a ten kilometre hike on Friday and I absolutely loved it! I’ve never really been hiking before so it was new to me, but I really want to go again.

We also stopped on our way home and was able to see this beautiful view!

Marvelous is…

A chocolate milkshake at 8:30 am. I stopped at the market on my way into work on Saturday because a new milkshake stand opened. If you know me, you know that milkshakes are my favourite! The stand uses local ingredients and even makes their own ice cream! They also had super cute straws!

Marvelous is…

Being with family. After work on Saturday, I headed to my Aunt’s place for a BBQ and ate way too much. I had a burger, ribs, salad, and strawberry shortcake.10369918_10154428005315377_4100777064908527807_n

Hope everyone has a great day!

WIAW #18

Good Evening! I hope everyone is having a good week so far! The weather has been pretty miserable here the past few days, but it’s looking like the sun is going to come out on Friday! Today I’m sharing with you what I ate on my day off on Monday. As always, a big thanks to Jenn for hosting this weekly link up!

Peas and Crayons

What I Ate Wednesday Monday

Pre-workout: the usual banana, this one is a little spottier than I would like but still works like a charm

Breaky: after my workout, I made pancakes with another banana and two eggs. These were topped with blueberries and almond butter!

Lunch: romaine lettuce, ground beef, cheese, and sweet potato wedges

Supper: my dad made a roast with turnip and potatoes

Snacks: Boom Chicka Pop, a thin cinnamon raisin bagel and way too many Double Stuf Oreos (unpictured)

That Boom Chicka Pop is addicting! I finished the bag in two days. The lightly sweet flavour is just like kettle corn!

I hope everyone has a wonderful few days! I’ll be back on Friday with some favourites!

MIMM #13 : #CBMF2014

Good Afternoon! I have a confession to make. I had all intentions of writing this up over the weekend, yet here I find myself on Monday morning and I haven’t started yet. I don’t like making excuses so I’m not going to.

I thought I would link up with Katie for a MIMM post and a recap of Cavendish Beach Music Festival (only a week late).

The Cavendish Beach Music Festival is held yearly in Cavendish, PEI. They have been putting on the festival since 2009. This was the first time I had gone and I will definitely be back. The headliners were to be Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, and Hunter Hayes. There were also to be performances by Brett Kissel, Darius Rucker, Blackjack Billy, Dean Brody, and many others.

Day 1 – Friday, July 4th

I woke up early Friday to go to the gym, run some last minute errands and pack. I picked up my two friends and we were off to the island. We were staying with one of my friends in Charlottetown (about 45 minutes from Cavendish). We made it there around lunch time. After unloading and grabbing some food, we were off! My friend we were staying with worked until 6 so was going to head there after she was done with one of her friends.

We arrived in Cavendish around 2:30 or 3 and were ready to get started. Brett Kissel was the first person we knew of and he was starting at 4 so we hung out and walked around the festival until around 3:30. We wanted to get close so we headed down to the stage at the point. We were the second row before the barriers so we were happy with our spots. David Nail was suppose to perform after Brett Kissel, but couldn’t make it so Brett ended up playing later.

Brett Kissel is UNREAL! I wasn’t sure if I would know most of his songs, but was so happy when I did. After his set, he did a meet and greet. By the time we go up to the Merch Tent, the line was super long. Instead of waiting, we went and got food. We ended up meeting up with my friend and her friend. We were having a good time and before we knew it, it was almost 8. A few of us decided to head to the charging station to charge our phones. That was a huge fail! There was no spots left. As we walked up, we saw that the line to meet Brett was super short so we decided to do that. He is one of the nicest people I’ve met. He’s also a lot shorter than I thought he would be. I got him to sign my gym card because I didn’t have anything else and we took a selfie together

We were heading down for Lady A, but waited a little too long to go so we weren’t that close. They were still amazing! I always have liked them, but after seeing them perform, I love them! The picture below is the best one that turned out.

We got back to the parking lot around 11, finally made it out at 12, were back in Charlottetown around 1, and finally went to bed at 2:30.

Day #2 – Saturday, July 5th

Saturday was eventful to say the least. There was a wind warning and rain warning thanks to Hurricane Arthur in effect. Before leaving Charlottetown, we heard they were delaying opening the gates until 1 so we got there around 1:30. We then heard they were going to wait until 2:30. As we were waiting, it got pushed back to 5! Our group decided we were going to go eat somewhere and waste some time. We had already heard that Darius Rucker was going to be able to make, but were still hopeful about Blake Shelton. While eating, we saw he couldn’t make it either. We decided at this point to head back to Charlottetown since we weren’t really interested in seeing the three other acts. We were almost back, when we heard that the whole day was cancelled. For most of us, Blake was who we really went to see so we were pretty sad that we weren’t able to see him. Instead of feeling sad, we had some drinks and played some games. My friend Karly and I were beer pong and flip cup champs! It was nice to have a fun night after such a disappointing day.

Day 3 – Sunday, July 6th

After a fun night Saturday, we were all ready to go listen to some more music and make memories. We made it to Cavendish around 1 and hung out in the licenced area until about 3:30. At this point, me and my friend wanted to grab food then head down to the stage for Blackjack Billy. We weren’t able to get that close, but as the acts went on, we were able to get a little closer. Blackjack Billy were really good. They’re more of like a redneck, rocker type country if that makes sense. After them, Dean Brody played and he was unreal. After them, was when all the girls started swooning. It was time for Hunter Hayes! I was a really big fan when he first started, but haven’t really listened to his new stuff that much. He is super talented, he plays guitar, piano, drums, and can sing really well. He changed guitars probably 10 times throughout his set. All in all, it was a great day! I couldn’t get any good pictures of Blackjack Billy, but here’s some from Dean Brody and Hunter Hayes.

So jealous of this girl!

Last weekend was hands down the best weekend of my life! I was so lucky to spend time with some of my friends and to meet some new ones!

I hope everyone has a great Monday and I’ll be back on Wednesday with a look at my eats from today!

Friday Favourites #3

Good Afternoon! I haven’t posted in over a week! I guess I still have to plan better. I thought I would share some of my favourites today. A big thanks to Heather for starting and hosting this weekly linkup. I always love seeing what people are loving at the moment!

Cavendish Beach Music Festival (#CBMF2014)

This year’s CBMF was last weekend and it was one of the best times in my life. For those that don’t know, CBMF is an annual country festival held in Cavendish, PEI. I’m actually working on a recap post so I don’t want to spill too much right now, but I thought I would share one of the many pictures I took. Stay tuned for my recap that should be up (cross your fingers) by Monday. The picture below is from Dean’ Brody’s set.

Taco Lettuce Wraps

The past two days at work, I’ve brought stuff to make tacos in my lunch. Instead of using tortillas, I’ve been using romaine lettuce leaves. I add in ground beef, sweet potatoes, plain Greek yogurt, and cheese. This is so good! I’ll try and remember to snap a picture the next time I have them.

I work at a water park during the summer and I couldn’t love it more. This is my seventh summer working there and I am still excited to go to work every morning. The feeling of making someone’s day better or seeing someone really excited is one of the best things ever. My favourite part of the job, is talking to the kids that come to the park and seeing if they are having fun. They are usually super excited when they see they are tall enough to ride certain slides.

Getting back on track

After CBMF last weekend, I was excited to get back to eating well and working out. Since I was at a festival, there wasn’t the best food choices. I ate a lot of junk and drank a lot of beer. I got home Monday evening and began to make a plan for the week. I made it to the gym three days and ate relatively healthy. I did have some chocolate ice cream after work one night. I wasn’t going to, but it was going to go bad the next day so I was only trying to help haha.

I’m hoping to get some runs in too in the next week. I went out and bought a hand held water bottle so I am excited to try that out.

I just went to the mall and there are sales everywhere! I stopped at Bath and Body Works and picked up a few things. I stayed away from the candles because I would have gone crazy for them. I ended up picking up 4 scentables for my car that were buy 3, get 1 free. I also picked up 3 hand soaps for $10! The summer scents are so good and I wanted to make sure I would have some for when the weather starts getting cooler. I love summer and having summer scents no matter what time of the year it is always makes me happy.

That’s it for me today. I’m off to go get some lunch. I hope everyone has a great weekend! I’ll be sure to get the CBMF post up as soon as I can.
